Easy to install on my 2016 BRZ. Make sure you notice the pre-installed pins in the heads of each damper - you have to pull them out before you can install it. The dampeners work great, install was super fast. I got these for $75 after tax and shipping - a little pricey but it's competitive against all the others on the market. The action of these is really smooth and the gas noise is satisfying. Way better than having a dangerous twig holding 100lbs of metal above your head ;)

Installed these on my 2015 FR-S. Easy to install only takes about 10 min if that. Dont lose the pins! Easy to drop them but as long as you are careful with them you are good. I like how the hood opens up now. Great product!

Everything seems to fit /operate just fine. Haven't had them that long but they work out if the box anyways.

The product I bought was great, although the clips weren't the best. The shocks still stay in place without the little clips so it's not too bad. I've had them for a while now. So far they work perfectly and everything fits properly. Overall a great product, it allows more access to the engine and looks fantastic. Thank you!

Easy to install and looks so much better bring able to remove the prop rod.

There are much cheaper shocks available through several sources online. But I don't regret paying full freight for these shocks. When I open the hood of my BRZ it moves swiftly but very smoothly with no rebound at the top. Closing it requires deliberate pressure and a flick of the wrist at the end. It will not fall down by any accident. The strength of these pistons is perfectly tuned for the weight of my hood. Couldn't be happier.

Purchased these during the Black Friday sale and at first I was a bit skeptical compared to other brands but I couldn't be happier. As the description states, the 86 should've come with these stock. The sound of the closing and opening of the hood is beautiful. Only issue is the lack of instructions as the video is a bit outdated as there aren't any included washers. In addition, the pins weren't labeled too well but it only took a matter of 30 seconds to figure out how they worked. Overall, amazing product, definitely one of my favorite modifications.

Bought these because I open up my engine bay more than I'd like. Just so handy, I couldn't see why these aren't oem. Perfect just to have as an option. Worth every penny, definitely worth the buy. Props hood up more than factory with the stick. Very very easy to install. Took about 5min or so.

This item was cheap yet very high quality made. The easiest mod installation ever for my BRZ. I strongly recommend everyone who has a BRZ/FRS/86 to grab one for themselves.

I got the product pretty quickly, and it was really easy to install. I love it so far, always wanted to do it for my car since the. Hood OEM holder was a pain in the ass, always in the way this is way better clearance. Thank you 86speed.

Fantastic improvement on  whiteout. Easy to install. Cover the holes on the baseline where you install the locking spring. It slip my finger and went to the hole

Seriously, these work fine and are well built. Easy to install. No need for carbon fiber stickers on the piston, I mean c'mon, these are as functional as it gets. The real reason to use these us to get rid of the hood prop on the front. Great job!

Received it in a timely fashion. Install was very straight forward and simple. Easy to install even with one person, although recommended two person install.

Install was fast (~15 mins), just don't overtighten the bolts like I did and snap one of them. Shocks work great and feel very sturdy

Car should definitely come this way from factory but glad I got these for a great price can't beat 86Speed price and shippings quick which is always good product had no issues and was quick to install

get rid of that gross hood prop.and pick up these high quality hood shocks.

The hood struts only took a few minutes to install and make opening the hood so much more simple. My only issue is that the 86speed decals on them fell off after only one week of being on the car.

Overall product works great is more than substantial enough to support the hood.
I do wish the brackets had additional mounting hardware as the single mounting point provides some play in the bracket. The locking pins are fairly difficult to remove and then reinstall, and can easily be lost if you are not careful.

These are solid hood struts for <$50. Install takes 10min, can't go wrong! Just be sure to go slow with the clips, if you drop one in your engine bay it's gone forever.

Installation was really easy. Once it is installed, it blends in just like it is factory, It works as intended!

These are wonderful! Do exactly what they are designed to do. Have really great lift. The hood almost goes vertical.
4 stars for not coming with any instructions in the box. They have a nice install video on the website, but it would have been nice to have something in the box, or at least label which one is left and which is right.

This is a great way to noticeably upgrade your interior! Install is very easy, and pieces are quality....not plastic. The only reason not 5 stars is because (1) don’t come in red anymore but I bought silver and painted them, and the result is actually very good, and (2) 3m adhesive on one of the pointer covers proved to be not that strong, and pointer cover fell off and was rolling around inside the gauge cluster, Not a HUGE problem, but had to remove the gauge cluster and blur a small dab of Elmer’s in the inside of the cover.

Watch the install video; these are super simple. It's nearly 0 degrees where I live (Fahrenheit) and these spring to life still!  So nice to work without fear of bumping the stupid hood prop

These 86Speed Gas Hood Shocks V2 are a piece of cake to install. Snap on clips are quick and work perfectly. How anyone lives without these is beyond me. Must have for ANY car.

Probably the best 42 dollars you will spend to fully open the hood and have full reign of your engine bay. Easy to install and looks good every time you open the good! Buy now!

Easiest mod you can do. A must have for anyone that has boosted their car. The stickers came off after just a few days but no big deal.
